About The Author

Welcome to those that may enter. I am a 57 year young mum who lives in Melbourne, Australia. I have two stunning, intelligent daughters, 25 and 29 & a gorgeous man by my side, who lets me be me. I love to write & had heard of blogs & thought I’d venture into this unknown territory.

As my ‘title’ suggests, I write about my thoughts (with and without wine), my age, being a mum, relationships, &  my lust for writing (pretty much anything that pops into my head).

Shall this blog site enter into politics? No.

Will it contain pages of beautiful photos? Perhaps the odd one or two (as I don’t have that many I can choose from on my computer worth posting!)

Will it be honest & straight from my heart and soul? Yes.

Will my topics bore you? Possibly.

Enlighten you? Maybe.

Be relatable to you? Hopefully.

Optimistically you may find some of what I write interesting – for me it’s cathartic.

I hope you enjoy what you read and please feel free to share my blogs or make a comment (good or bad).

I would love to hear from you. Thank you.

PS: I apologise in advance if any of photos disappear off my posts. I am experiencing technical difficulties & hopefully with the help of WP will have them sorted.

  1. Thank you again for peeking in at my blog, for following me and for your lovely thoughts. I will gladly chatter about books and life. Please leave me your thoughts, so we can compare our thoughts, agree or disagree :-) I can’t wait to read more from you. I love the way you write and I am jolly glad we both like Colin. I am thrilled when I meet another Firth fan. I also wanted to say that I spent a better part of my life going to high school and University in Canberra. I did much of my growing up in Australia, until I met my husband and moved to San Francisco. I will always be an Aussie girl at heart. I brought my girls home 2 yrs ago and they loved traveling to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

    • Thank you and very pleased to meet you :-) Aussie or not I shall be glad to share my thoughts and chatter about anything. In fact that’s why I love blogging so much (one can’t shut me up)! I do appreciate you saying you love the way I write **warm & fuzzy* feeling or should that be ‘Bewdy mate – she’s apples’. Take care – chat soon.

    • Hello Dina, Thank you for popping in and liking my blog site and for your kind wishes. I had a look at yours and beautiful photography I must say. Unfortunately I cannot speak Norwegian? So didn’t put a comment :-( but I see you speak english :-)

  2. *gentle smile*

And another award … ohh..so many *s* ..but deserved.

The one I am wanting you to have…is called One Lovely Blog Award. I wrote about it here:
    http://irishkatie.wordpress.com/2012/11/29/i-am-honored-more-than-i-can-express/

And … I have been telling people why I have chosen them for particular awards. This one I wanted for you because when you write Mumsy … you write with passion … and compassion. When I saw this award I instantly thought of you. So many blogs came to mind .. but the one that really stands out for me? Well …actually, our emails. But as to blogs…the ones that stand out? The one about your mum …. she was saying she was not as pretty anymore. Pffft. And remember I told you … you are the most beautiful thing about her? *smiles*

So … in reality, the One Lovely Blog Award is not or your blog…*shakes head* …no…tis for you Mumsy. Tis you ….

Thank you … for being my friend.

    • Oh my darling Katie O …so many hugs are for you today for writing this. I got teary and for you to write such kind and compassionate words… about my mum… about me…. You are simply one gorgeous, caring, thoughtful human being and I THANK YOU from the top to the bottom of my heart.
Thank you for being my friend, I cherish that I can call you that.
I shall get my mum to read this today… and I am sure she will also have a tear.
      Hugs & kisses
      xxooxx

    • I thank you visiting. I have only just started following ROS – a very comical, thought provoking and amazingly talented writer.
I am so pleased you have popped in and I shall reciprocate by having a peek around yours :-) Thanks Lynette.

  3. HI! I have enjoyed your “ramblings” on 20 Lines with each post, but today I took a moment to come here and browse. I relate to your offerings so many times and enjoy your writing thoroughly! I will definitely be checking in!

  4. Just found your blog today. I look forward to reading more about your life as a mum. I’ve got four kids, but they’re a long way from grown up and off on their own. I love hearing the perspective of people at different points in their lives…so I look forward to yours.

    • Hello and welcome and thank you. I hope that you find my ‘ramblings’ helpful. I am a little prolific – if not diverse in what I write… so it’s a bit of a wild ride at times.
I also write a fair amount of poetry so if you aren’t into that you can skip :-) If you have any questions feel free to ask also.

  5. Two kids? Your lucky in my family I have six siblings. So life is always keeps us on our toes. Especially with a two year old baby running amok with a for year old accomplice. It’s even more fun for me since I’m the oldest.

      • No portion, feel free to pop in and have a look at my blog about my family life.
        It’s called “1/8 of me”
        Sanity? I don’t believe we’ve met. Lol :P
Let’s just say my siblings keep me on my toes!

  6. I enjoyed reading your about page. As a provisional empty nester (our college student stops by for provisions) this is an interesting subject. As a self-published author I’d like to know about your experience using Lulu. If you have written a post on the subject, please share a link.

    • Awwwww shucks – thank you mate. I shall partially accept – which is what I pretty much do now, I shall do the post tonight or tomorrow and the acceptance. Thank you so much for nominating me, very SWEET of you!! :-) x

You have spent the time popping in - Please don't waste it - share a comment on what you have read.
