Crystal Waters

Meal Beach, Burra Isles, Shetland by Robin Gosnall

For The Magpietales. Pic The Meal Beach, Burra Isles, Shetland by Robin Gosnall

Translucent sun
falls on crests

cascading marshmallows
across parched grains
with thirst
swallow eagerly

I lay with you
watching the mountains

glass waters
never brittle
silken alluring

our bodies
intertwine alone
this deserted

we ride the
crest of our own wave
the sun hits your back
tumbling waves

our orchestra
the only
meal I need

  1. That’s what I really like – description without forced emotion – too many writers force their emotions on me. I’ll do the emotion bit if the words click! Your poem reminds me of haiku…have you seen Carpe Diem daily haiku…wonderful blog – I participate on – Ithink more blogs definitely gets you more exposure,

    • I am so appreciative of your comments, really I am. I haven’t been on that site but I might go and take a peek. I have written some Haiku and Sonnets and Acrostics and such in other posts, it took me a long time to steer away from rhythm rhyming, through the help of other poets on here. I do slip back now and then when I think it requires it though. Thank you Pirate.
