blah grey..maybe if I shut my eyes
squint my face, turn three circles
anti-clockwise
the sun will shine again
..nope that didn’t work
blah rain…maybe if close one eye
twist my mouth to the right side
tilt my head towards the ceiling light
the sun will….
nope no joy there
blah undomestic bliss returns
…maybe if I grab the doona
shuffle my whole self underneath
it will disappear…
nope you guessed it
that didn’t work either
blah…the time when you
come home, unpack
put a load of washing
on, hang it up on horses (not real ones)
that would just be stupid
watch telly, look at each other, both
say “can we go back?” we know
we can’t, switch the station
YAY …. cricket…no not YAY at all
and daughter’s on my MAC
right where’s my IPad
The let down, the exhilaration of being away, having a holiday, viewing the world in a different light…only to return to the same furniture, the dishes not put away (thanks daughter #2) and the ..well the same ol shite. Ho hum holidays so good in one respect, so nasty in another. We left at 27deg C we returned to 100km winds, rain and Eskimo temperatures.
What more can I say (and yes the poor dog next door which belongs to the couples daughter and they have been minding him all winter) is outside on concrete and cries….that is stressing me more than being back.
There is always a harsh reality to returning home after a great holiday, resentment even, especially to dirty dishes. But you have great memories and a warm doona so it won’t be long before you will like you never left home. Good that you are back and we could maybe engage in some mindless banter which I have been missing.
aww summer..she was chastised over the dishes..and the rubbish bins..and ..ho hum home..yes memories and now posting some of the pics..which I will have to do in stages. I’ve missed our mindless banter too my friend ๐
Welcome home. Yes, it is the downside of all holidays, having to return to the same-old, same-old.
sad but true *sigh* lol xx
ah, but there is always a quiet comfort in returning home. (just stay bundled up and have a hot toddie or two)
Hmm now there’s an idea ๐ xx
imagining the horses running trailing my laundry behind them…smiles…there is an first coming down after being on vacation…its like a hard crash back into reality…til we find our rhythm again….
think I found it already Brian ๐ฆ oh here’s your laundry back they were buggers to catch up with ๐
My phone won’t load the like button! Darn phone! Lol
Bugger! Perth is very wet too. ๐ฆ
Not like us to have so much rain. Still, I think the months have changed and Winter doesn’t really stop here until September. Even then you can have the odd down pour here and there. Not as cold as Melbourne though, thank goodness. Lol
Hate coming home to dishes…especially when they weren’t mine. ๐
Hugs and hope the weather eases off. Hugs Paula xxx
Hi Hun, we are pretty much the same, just have a slow bubbling pot of home made veg soup on the stove for tea, with fresh bread rollsโฆmore calories. Sun out today but cold. Yes wasn’t impressed with dishes or quite a few things! Grrr. Hugs back xx
Yum! Soup and bread rolls! ๐
Its my favourite thing in Winter. ๐ xx
it was yummy too ๐ xxx
There’s always that blah moment upon coming home, unless of course the vacation was crappy, then going home is great! I’m glad you had a wonderful holiday, I’m sorry it’s winter and kids are slobs ๐
Gawd you made me laugh (nothing new there really) thanks hun, yup but just think I’ll be in summer when you’re in winter – so it’s all fairโฆ isn’t it? your last line keeps making me giggle ๐ x
