Angel – (Prose from 3 words)

Angel, surround and heart are the next 3 words that I have been asked to write about. This is from a dear friend of mine Tricia Garrett. So lovely, this is for you (and my readers).

draped the angel sleeps
the cold of stone not felt beneath
surround her not with pity
she no longer feels her pain
blind to acts of cruelty
deaf to words of hate

as on earth
an angel once again

do not weep your tears
though your heart may break
as you stand before her
rest a marigold where she lays
remember not her sorrow
her soul now free to touch

the face of the stars

brush the dirt away from her
so she maybe cleansed
from those that caused her death
sit and talk with her a while
and you will hear her plea

I sleep, I ask ~ no tears be shed
just remember me

  1. You know I am interesting in poetry, just that I am rubbish…
I read this, was it about letting go? or allowing a memory to go?
Kinda without feeling sad for a soul that has gone?

  2. i’m enjoying this writing exercise. you are like a word juggler, with all kinds of words being tossed at you to toss back down to us in a lovely new arrangement. my 3 words are: mischief, mayhem, revelry.

    • It does feel that way doesn’t it and I am so loving it, now though I have for pieces to write..it’s going to be a ‘hats on’ weekend coming up. Thanks Beth for your 3…this could be interesting 🙂 xx
