rusted barb wire breaks
the softness of the sun
obeying the winds
anger versus calm
two forces ~ never meeting
one holds strong, unnerved
the other soft, compliant
what does it remind you of
the subdued against the harsh
that will not falter
not breaking or succumbing
to the elements ~ merely
shifting side to side
as it pleases
unyielding in its path
heat that cannot melt the barbs
both resilient ~ yet different
chrome hues ~ coarse greys
depending on the view

Just lovely….so happy to see you are writing so I am guessing stress is gone? ๐
Thank you Anja – and yes the stress and the service have passed ๐
ohhhh Jenny there is so much in this one, lovely metaphor for life I would say, excellent imagery and very engaging. Great poem loved it…
woah Michael I thank you ๐ possibly the argument with offspring was just the encouragement I needed!
Wow, Mumsy – I agree that this is a lovely metaphor for life.
Goodness I didn’t expect the reaction I’m receiving! Thank you honey, perhaps my brain, being away from writing blogs has helped ๐ x
Sometimes a break is a good thing.:)
it seems to be ๐ x
Oh! Heart-felt writing… ๐
Those barbs which do not melt… how sharp they are!? I wonder…
Thank you Anmol- I think I write better spur of the moment ๐ 5 minutes ~ better than sitting and pondering too long, changing and editing. They melt rarelyโฆ..
Love this – the like button isn’t loading, so if it doesn’t after I post this comment, please take this as a like!! ๐ ๐
Helen – thank you so much and I shall ๐
a lot of it always depends on our view of things….calm and anger, i know them both…
i like how you play them off each other and agree it makes a fine metaphor….
smiles.
thank you again Bri (can I call you Bri?) yes the not so little argument this morning with my daughter brought this one on I’m afraid meh such is life ~ smiles
Very well done, Jen! I really love this one! ๐
Thank you thank you much much ๐ xx
