Nature Versus Man
Boats battling treacherous seas
wheels held within blistered hands
Tornados lash fury against the homes
windows, doors battened down
Droughts parch sunburnt lips
cries for water, to quench the thirst
Fires eating up their path
trapping those that can’t escape
Tsunamis rise like devils hands
consuming all ~ the aftermath
Earthquakes split the ground in two
lives fall through the open cracks
Avalanche gains momentum
suffocating those who ski
Volcano gases, lava erupts
burning all that lie beneath
With all that nature does provide
….man still insists on killing man…

For Mind Love Misery’s Prompt this week – The Outline – You can take that to mean man versus his own nature or man versus the wild. While this prompt could easily illicit a serious intellectual/emotional discussion about man’s destruction of the environment and the need for conservation I believe it could also lend itself to comedy. Have you ever had an interaction with a wild animal? Ever been camping? Hiking? Skinny dipping in what you assumed to be a private lake? As always I leave the interpretation of the prompt to your imagination.

Excellent Jenny, very well said….loved it.Like how you have all those natural disasters and despite it all we still want to kill each other. Great.
Thanks my friend and yes stupidity does rule.
hard to understand isn’t it….
totally
Fantastic job Jenny you have really captured the drama, devastation, and force of nature. Though beautiful beyond anything man can replicate there is a violence in the elements and in the whole ongoing creative process of the universe
no – thank you Yves for the wonderful prompt again – at first I was clueless – then my muse came to my aid.
I can see that you’ve done a wonderful job Jenny =)
too kind- thank you 🙂
Great work – such an interesting photo to respond to!
I chose the photo (believe me it wasn’t easy trying to find something) 🙂 thank you sweet..see your bouncing around 🙂 x
Yes, I am. I should be sleeping but have a little insomnia going on. Big test coming up.
oh hun – sorry – no wonder (like me prior to a Service) GOOD LUCK – let me know how you go 😉 xx
Thank you! It’s not for three weeks still but there’s a lot of ground to cover in the prep time that’s left!
try to get SOME sleep in-between or you’ll be zzzzzz throughout -and that just WON’T do!
Am about to head off. zzzzz 🙂
Love it! Harsh and true look at the world.
Thank you J – appreciated you popping in and your comment 🙂
Mother Nature is a harsh taskmaster and her anger is devastating. You’d think man would be humble and not want more devastation especially by his own hand. Man is selfish.
I really enjoyed your answer Tess ~ thank you, indeed at times they are. x
🙂
wonderful! very clear and powerful message!! 🙂 🙂
Thank you 😀
ah, we def do…nature def takes hers but…we’ll come up with just about any reason to as well…
yes, but I guess with her it’s not preconceived…whereas man that carries gun or knife, surely has a motive, thanks for reading Mr. M ~ smiles
I love this…..I never see mother nature as angry but just doing her job. Now man….we are a mess.
we are smack bang in the middle of her tirade and only getting worse I feel 😦 Thanks for reading!
In my opinion man messed up the earth and she is trying to react to regain balance.
can’t agree with you more
