he melts into obscurity, holds
knife close to his chest
have you eyed the devil
moments rational or crapulous
he slices
hearts from breast
kidneys laid bare
alluding to be one of us
licking lips savouring
the next victim that he hunts
misty early mornings
blackened night
in alleyways
deleterious his intent
he haunts the weak, the frail
exposing wounds, but not himself
eyes wide open, disemboweled
calculating lust and slaughter
heart beat quickens with his blade
popping sinews a surgeons skill
wets his appetite
obsession for the frightened
beware the devil you can’t see
he could be anyone you know
… even me

Shared with Prompt 43 Supernatural Lust I chose serial killers.
Some people experience an amplified lust for life (some times it’s drug or mania-induced sometimes it comes from a more internal/innocuous source)
Hypersexuality, Zeus and his sexual conquests, Bacchanalia, Vampires and blood lust, The sick twisted lust of serial killers
Fantastic choice Jenny, very creepy, very evil excellent!
Thank you and thank you for the prompt 🙂
You capture the sense of the ripper very well, lots of evil at play here. Well done Jenny.
Thank you Michael, evil and I are playing together quite a bit of late.
That was great J. I hope you’ll do some more like that. I could read it over and over.
Look I’m up for the challenge 🙂 I posted your crystal too ~ thanks for your kind words R – appreciated.
Oh yeah, you did, it’s all coming back to me LOL
Life does get blurry …doesn’t it lol
Wow Jenny, this was amazing. I loved the subtle rhyming, I don’t know if it was intended, but it created an atmosphere of lunacy and craze, which goes so well with the poem. I loved the ending a lot as well. I would say this is a beautiful and savoury horror classic. Amazingly done!
Deliciously nasty and worryingly captivating. 😉
🙂 ta lovely
EEEEEEEEEEEEEK!! should I be corresponding with you ?? 😉 great very well done! xx
I…think you…are…safe 😉 thank you lovely xx
Are you quite sure it is safe for me to come out from behind the sofa? 😉

Evil, evil, Jack. I must keep my wits about me and look out for the man in a dark cape.

Oh aren’t you gorgeous..yes you are 🙂 I only wish I could make a living from it! Bit odd though with my profession isn’t it? xx
Fantastically ghastly! popping sinews – yikes, too good xxx
Can’t you just hear them too? 😉 thanks lovely one xxx
alright…disturbing. ha. to think of one so twisted as to get pleasure out of the taking of another life…its a scary thought…
Yes slightly… I think jack derived too much pleasure, yes a scary thought that someone could be that evil, thanks B ~ smiles.
Prompt wonderfully answered. And then some. You’re so good at these. Is there something you want to tell us? 😉 You’ve put me in the mood for another one now. 🙂
I wait to read yours … my pretty…. Thank you so much, I do enjoy them, hmm telling you? No don’t think so… 😉 x
Crapulous? Is that a word? Let me go back and read it again.
I think I am in love with that word alone.
Dark…..oh so dark. I like.
nods yes it is – relating to drunk or alcohol – so I can be crapulous many days lol!
Thank you – dark can be very good (evil chuckle)
well worded phrases make for sharp, clear images. Good drama, well done.
Thank you so much for dropping by, reading and your kind comments – appreciated ~ smiles
Just hang on a second – I have to go get my mask! Burrrr …
