So true Jenny! Great piece! That is the challenge of writing also – since we don’t have the ability to add inflection that actual speaking does. You master it beautifully in your writing!
I am truly grateful for your words Jodi, thank you 💜
Bravo! It is the what and how added together. We’ll done Jen.
Words, used as weapons, slice so vicious!!
Thank you, I curtsy. Appreciate you reading hun 💜
Such confusion is understandable. The perception results into action, and thus, it has to be given consideration. Thoughtful writing.
That it does Anmol. So many times words are spoken without any forethought . Thank you for reading.
Sounds painful to me. Words hit harder than fists at times especially when it’s those close to us. Powerful piece J.
Thank you R. It can be painful, something I experience often unfortunately.
It showed and I’m sorry you have to.
friendship hugs from across the sea ☺️
😄
Words hurt as well as heal. Be clear and say what you mean. Be careful. Harsh words destroy so easily.
Very well said Tess – thank you 💜 xx
it’s so very hard to be caught up the ever-changing windstorm, with words flying all around, and no clear path through it all. wonderful poem and hugs –
Thank you Beth, seeing through my words once again .. 💜 hugs
Lovely, lovely poem Jen. Words are just the most powerful tool in the world are they not? They get you into trouble, they cause a war, they cause pain and they heal wounds all at the same time. I love words, I don’t know what I would do without them. And here you are putting them together so beautifully – brilliant.
xxxx
Hugs darling, very powerful indeed. I love them too, I just want them directed to me nicely and with honesty…not always the case… Love you xxx💜
So often what is said and what is heard is subject to context and how we may be feeling at that particular moment. You convey that idea very well Jenny.
True Michael, there is so much that I do not wish to hear and what I do, there’s very little. Thank you for reading.
“How much should I cry for help
Or manipulation”
“Have me
Here
There
Wherever you
Choose”
I love the line breaks, the use of single words for some thoughts, and then longer staccato lines. This is a really great piece of writing….
Matt, thank you so very much, I really appreciate you reading and your thoughts.
I read this first as a writer and then I read it again as a speech pathologist and the piece had two different meanings. I loved this, Jen.
Thank you so much Beck, that is a great compliment 💜 hugs xx
Powerful ….words are.
That they are ~ thank you for reading. 💜
It makes me cry to think of how words can be used for ill. The potential to do so much with them for good and still we have to wade through them to find what is not being said or how they are used to control. And lies are the worst. There’s just never any real knowing, always guessing. I suppose all we can do is go on gut and previous experience even if that still lets us down at times. I hope you can filter to best serve without being manipulated, Jen. It’s a tough one.x
You are spot on with your comment M and I thank you for your perception. Quite a bit of filtering is required of late. Appreciated your comment hun ~ hugs 💜 x
Jen, you show so much depth and perception in what you write. This can reach others in its meaning, it can also express your own frustration with the way words are hurled into the maelstrom of life. Such challenges to overcome, my dear friend… Hugs, Robin
Aww thank you darling, yes my frustration is possibly quite evident and many challenges still to face. Words spoken can change a mood a moment so easily. Thank you for the hug and back at you 💜 xx
Very true.
