Ice

image
They left their footprints in the snow
One deeper than the other
Barren branches mirrored upon the lake
Shadowing the ice as it faded in the sun
The beauty was in the tears that fell
Melted pools into the frozen ground
Whilst the snowy owl stretched its wings
Footprints disappeared as days
Turned into nights and the owl watched
Waiting for their return

    • Oh oh! I missed this lovely poem, jumping into the other post a few days ago. Jen. This could be on a poster or a little magnet to read and treasure. The one whose steps were heavier than the other, tears shed made me think of mother and daughter on a journey across icy and snowy lands. The wide wings of the owl sends the feeling of a hug sent through air; over time and space. I also feel you embracing us all in your love. xo to you, the girls and your mum and poppa penguin ♡♡
