Cut deep the blade slices
sawing it’s way through flesh
blood rises to the surface
hands are shaking
the cut continues
mess
the limb is pulled
like being ravaged by wolves
torn with sinews white skin flayed
from bone, severely ripped apart
he approves
admiration for his workmanship
he stands back wipes the excess blood
that stains his blade but not his heart
for he smiles at limbs and skin and legs
his turkey carving now complete
