catch me (A Shadorma)

I catch waves

in-between fingers

hit the ground

like my thoughts

soaking into heated sand

they evaporate

I haven’t played with forms for a long time  ~ thought I would try one now and then.

Shadorma is a Spanish 6-line syllabic poem of 3/5/3/3/7/5 syllable lines respectively.

Moments. (Prose)

kH9x7
moments
at times
coloured lives existing
can be
bleached
we step translucent
disinterested

chromaticity dissolves
fading inwardly
ghost-like through days
stretching
hoping
colours will return

our days
immutable
mountains not trekked
solitude silence
along singular paths

we step with longing
lingering
hoping for
rainbows
to emerge from our
darkest
moments

be brave for
they will
strength gained
to feel a better way
without shadows
beyond what you
felt today

running on empty (Prose)

A breeze snake weaves
between leafy branches
I sit despondent
~ flies buzz
leaves rustle against pavers

other worlds are cold iced
sun that lightens a dreary day
does not this time
~ birds sing, dogs in distance bark

tired
tired of sympathy calling
jaded as the dry weeds in garden bed
calling to be plucked
I have no strength
today

pieces taken from me ~ bit by bit
I am not whole but crumbling
foundations breaking
exhausted
spread to thin like
butter across a slice of bread

I must apologise for not catching up on those I follow, reading and commenting. I am trying, but if I miss out on some of your posts, I hope you will understand.
I am slightly drained of late, hopefully soon I will return. For now, I need to write
to get out what is in my head.
