Blindfolded (Prose)

rose red cuts the colour of
your porcelain self
a heart that openly loves
accepting of another
disregarding truth

careful ~

thorns can scratch
or pierce
blood will flow
drain you
do not succumb

lacerated love

the fantasy is culled
reality can wound
things are not
always
what they seem

In a moment (Prose)

Caregiver

there will be moments, fleeting seconds

when a journey of ones self halts ~ mid stream

life’s own pattern that normally flows and

ebbs across jagged rocks across mossy leaves

there will be moments, when breath is hard to grasp

when knowing someone that you love cannot help

themselves, with tears that form, the droplets fall

no way to catch them, to make them disappear

there will be moments, you wish to trade their

place with yours,  absolve the frightened

look held within their eyes, to give them

reassurance and all the love you have

there will be moments, like grey clouds overhead

that form, that turn your day from sunshine

into rain, when all you wish is to comfort

them, to take away their pain

so when these moments strike you ~be prepared

as you can be, know that you won’t breath in

the seconds that it takes, know your life can

turn upside down and you will also break

Written from the event of yesterday.

can you help the ones that cry (Prose from 3 words)

I have side stepped from my ‘evil’ persona for this.  3 words seems to be all the encouragement and inspiration that is required some days. These 3  tears, hope &  shoulder were given to me by summerstommy.com

images-3 images-5

Everybody hurts sometime
~ so the words are sung
to what breadth ~ the one who feels the pain
that cuts into their very breath is the one who truly knows
others (as the bystanders) only see the tears
or the sadness in their eyes that once held hope or joy
the forlorn look across their face, that once held smiles
and what they need is comforting the simplest hug
the kindest word to help alleviate their pain

and cuddles are the smallest things, yet the
happiness they bring ~ immeasurable, contact
with a friend whose strength will see them through
who can ask them how they are and really listen
not just nod as if they understand, when they
themselves confused; to give a little reassurance
that they will smile again and tears will melt away

and what they need is hope
that what they feel right now will dissipate
that feelings of self worth or loss will lift
that they will have much brighter days
give them your shoulder for they won’t
bear too much weight, only what they carry
deep inside and the full extent of what they feel
won’t be enough to make you crumble…. only them

Still interested in receiving 3 words, if anyone who hasn’t shared cares to do so.

How did I love thee (Prose from 3 words)

cough, conflict, control these 3 words have been sent from  Sarah Ann – thank you and I hope that you enjoy.

sitting cross legged on the bed
sheets crumpled underneath
I watch the candle flames
burn their brightness
with the smell of frankincense
I hold you in my arms
I have the control it seems
to do with you as I please and I
cough a little excitedly
for what that means to me

542982_350918278291685_1128794145_n

I hold you tight, you don’t resist
lying comforted in my embrace
which is different from the past
few weeks,  when all we did was fight
but now there is no conflict
as I am in control, who would have
thought I’d spike your drink
allowing you to fall
ssshh ~  it will be alright my love
there is nothing you should fear
though now that you paralysed
revenge is near
so let me hold your hand ~ I swear
you won’t feel any pain
just let me heat the knife once more
and slice into your vein

nothing left

So, dive in!  At least dip your toe!  Get in the flow!  And sing! (But don’t get water up your nose.)  The topic for the day—a body or bodies of water.  For these purposes, a body of water can mean anything from an ocean to a mermaid (or man), a lake to a puddle, even, if you would, a glass, a tear, a rain drop.

FOR DVERSE ~ POET’S PUB    http://dversepoets.com/2013/07/27/water-water-everywhere-surely-theres-a-poem-there/

~~~~~~~~~~~
Seabirds grace skies
circumscribed by blackened clouds
~whispering my name
ocean beyond cerulean hue
beckoning
I walk ~hands splintering
on wooden rails, steepness of the
sandy track
you left
casting sandals across dampened
dunes bare foot
gazing to~
the crescent moon
lifting darkened green
my lips devour bubbles
liquid strength
you left
kick abandoned castles
tears ~as grains soar into the air
and I dance
whirling ~arms outstretched
as soles immerse
cold against the briny deep
I give of me to the hues of blue
swirls ~spilling saltiness
‘cross my lips
swallowing the sapor of the sea
you left
let the ocean swallow me
Battle for Home
16-07-july-14th-2013
I stand on reddened soil, battle
complete, the smell of death
fills the air, I
care not for your meagre offering
of white cloth held in muddied hand
tainted by another’s blood
compensation for my loss on this
hallowed soil, a surrender given
to late to save the ones I loved
who rode into your storm
of pistols and catapults that cast
the stones of fire
with hearts racing, valiantly we
forged, my brother along side I
and in my fogginess of contest; the
sky drew dark through shadowed eyes
as brown soil mixed with blood
of those that will not see
another day
I step between the dead who lie
with mounts beneath them
men whose hearts will beat
no more, innocent, courageous
fighting for home they fell
with one last breath upon the ground
bring daylight through my tears
so I may see what we fought for
here, amongst the trees
Alastair’s Photo Fiction
Mumsy has been busy
Some of you may or may not know that Miriam from Another Wandering Soul  and Life and other Tales and I have started a new site purely for our poetry.
This is a collaboration of two minds, a young, vibrant one from Germany, and a slightly older fuzzy one from Australia.  The site is
http://wordsfromheretothere.wordpress.com
Below are two of the pieces that I wrote in the last few days. I will (apart from photo challenges) be placing my poetry works in this site, so I ask if anyone is interested in reading my work that you pop along over there. Miriam and I do joint pieces (one line each or 1 stanza each) or individual sets and also choose pictures where we write individually and post (without peeking at each others work prior to publishing).
I post these only to show you that I have been writing the last few days, just been a little remiss with ramblings – which I intend to rectify over this weekend. For those that are following us already – we both thank you. To those who haven’t popped in, we look forward to seeing you from time to time, pull up a chair, relax, the wine and cheese are on us 🙂
PROTECTION  7-6-2013
I shielded myself from your cruelty
the harshness of the elements
weren’t as strong as the
taunts you bandied, fists clenched, angered eyes
sheltered protected, I tried to hide
in recesses of my mind, I sort solitude
and dreamt of open plains where
I was free to run and feel no pain
hold on I said, I told myself a thousand times
buffer the words that you scream
until I broke, my mind collapsed
my parasol too weak to stave your evil
THE LOVE BOAT – 7.6.2013
In love what shifts like sand
friendship – admiration – trust
should we reassess now and then
where we are at; where we head
Bow or stern which way to walk
which direction; for better or worse
as waves tumultuously hit
the foundations of my judgment
Perhaps the middle along the keel
where balanced thoughts are kept
or walk along the bilge persuading
darkened thoughts to dwell submerged
Top deck I could spritely march
tossing away indecisiveness
casting aside my unjust fears
as the winds blow the sails
To those that suffer pain
For Shaun from http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com
and for all of those who experience pain as part of their every day life.
Days of darkness silent stares
transfixed on rain
through foggy window
wondering if there
shall be a brighter tomorrow
a time without….the need for pills
a brighter year ahead
less painful than the last
thoughts of why
this happens… what brought
suffering to you, I have no explanation
no words of comfort can be sought
but let me say these words
as a friend to a fellow friend
maintain courage..keep up the fight
you will not break…. but only bend
 gather strength from people everywhere
that …. one day your pain will cease
and there will be another chapter
and in that you will find peace
Growing Old
Please
Stop the clock from clicking time
for as long as can be granted
times still need celebrating
and lives are wished to live
without thinking of the imminent
for they have so much more to give
please
let them feel the freedom in their legs
so they may walk as in their prime
without the need of 4 wheeled ‘helpers’
on which they now rely
please
let them bend and lift and stand
and make them strong and able
let them swirl upon the dance floor
in each others arms once more
please
let them pass the day without
the aches and pain
a time table of tablets taken
to ease their suffering
please I plead
let them simply be
as they were when they were young
before the troubles of their age
let them have the days ahead
without feeling so afraid
For my parents – my readers forgive my posts the last couple of days. I need to write at the moment to expel my feelings of pain and frustration out. I thank you for your patience and understanding. Hopefully my father (Pop) will recover from what he is experiencing right now and I shall be in a better frame of mind and my writing will be of lighter content.
As the moon is my witness
Scant rays filtered off the moon puncturing the charcoaled night.
Her body lay frigid, unyielding.
Crawling insects that penetrated the cold and darkened soil emerged to invade her lifeless form.
Who would search these desolate woods to find her?
Who could have saved her from the torment, the painful and terrifying hours she spent fighting off her assailant – her killer?
What’s more who would care?
She begged for her life.
Ropes tightly bound her feet, congealed blood stained her ankles and heels.
Her body exposed bar the remnants of her shredded cotton dress knotted tightly around her throat.
Both arms and legs bruised, black and swollen from the brutal blows inflicted upon her porcelain skin.
Blackened eyes, her pupils dilated now stared lifelessly into the night.
Her face scored with lacerations, the backdrop to the red rivers that made pathways from her hairline to her neck. Her mouth wide open, filled with dirt, as her last screams for help echoed through the woods, only to be finally silenced.
Who would know?
She was a loner.
What’s more who would care?
I apologise if this is too graphic, I started with two young lovers and I edited and wasn’t happy with what I wrote. I cannot say I am ‘happy’ as one cannot write of death in this manner and be ‘smiling’, but my dark side emerged tonight and this was the result.
Critique of any kind welcome.
