take me away, a walk at night
down tarred streets
under subtle street lamp glows
where dancing moths swirl
randomly in the breeze
breathe essences of flowers, with closed eyes
drawing scents underneath my skin
perfumes greater found in nature
as are moments, we remember
on summer nights with hands clasped tight
resting a head upon your arm
for there are times when escape is deemed
the necessary, to unfurl our minds in
beads of warm night air
to let our minds run free
from knots that bind inside our ribs
that lead to trepidation
when it’s simply our over thinking
of the ‘what could be’
and can we stop the process
only if and when we choose
a walk on balmy nights
helps to free my worries loose

Very true – we all have to have a way of dealing with stress.
Ahh yes – mine is breathe, pace, flower essences on tongue – more breathing..lol 😉 x
yes, and so important to remember – a lovely way to say it and remind us.
Thank you sweet – I just have to be able to do this when I can 🙂 x
i agree that nature has the better perfumes…and moments….walking def helps me let go of things….nature does the same…
Thank you my friend…yes walking especially on a warm summers night…ahh I can hardly wait for the Summer to hit here. Thanks you for reading Bri. 🙂
This is a favourite, just divine!! 🙂 🙂
Oh Oh I am so glad – thank you Helen – I think my ‘better ones’ come out when I don’t ponder for as long – appreciated. 🙂
Gorgeous writing, palpable I felt I was within the scene painted. I used to (before I had a small child) take long walks with my husband at night and we would just talk and goof off, it’s a great way to alleviate stress.
Thank you so very much, how very sweet of you. Yes walking on a summer’s night particularly, staring at the stars and moon…can’t help but be de-stressed 🙂
=) just getting outside lifts my spirits. I am crazy about trees I get so excited seeing them that my daughter literally hugs them (I don’t hug them just marvel but I think she senses my love and gratitude lol)
You should come to Australia – we have ‘many’! I’ve hugged two I think – and they said thanks 😉
hehe we live near a very nice park and my in-laws have a summerhouse in the country (common in Sweden) so I make sure to stock up on my positive nature vibes. I bet Australia is gorgeous I’ve only seen it in pictures and film but it looks amazing
Summer-house has such a lovely ring to it. Yes well I am bias – it is a truly stunning country and a great deal of it! 🙂
It does the little red cottages really have a certain charm =) Well I think in this case bias is good because it means you love your home and that is beautiful
Sounds beautiful. Yes I do and though I have visited Europe and would love to stay in a few of the countries for a long time – this is home and always will be 🙂
Now I’m starting to work on your prompt 🙂
Awesome I look forward to it =)
Thank you – 🙂
Very nice Jen. I love walks like these. Your words carried me with you.
thank you my angel – very sweet of you as always. 🙂 xxx
