Tonight it’s mumsy the rambler not mumsy the poet

Please don’t all breathe a sigh of relief.  Okay you can if you want too. I haven’t rambled for a while so I thought before I get stuck into writing prose (continuing probably into the wee small hours of the morning – as yes I am no longer in the work force) I thought I would just ramble.

Those who wish to delete, watch TV or totter off to the kitchen to make a tuna sandwich feel free for here is your window of opportunity before you get enamoured with my babbling.

So what do I have to tell you (what’s more what would you be interested in)?

Last weekend I attended the Funeral Celebrant Course (Sat and Sun).

Oh my viewers it is a tad more involved than what I first thought. Nonetheless I apparently now have the Certificate verifying that I did the training and I am a Funeral Celebrant (I can see you all lining up..well possibly not) besides it may get a bit expensive with overseas commutes though… kidding I won’t charge that much.

I won’t bore you with all the details as I know how long posts can put you to sleep. I have a couple of assignments to do, which I started this afternoon. Then well, it’s in my court – to get business cards made and go and promote myself.  Feel free to ask any questions (if you can think of any) and I shall answer them (if I can think of the answers).

As I said I’m no longer am in the work force – scary, daunting, watching pennies, trying to perhaps get something part-time until I get my self established.

What else?

Hmm this morning I had the absolute delightful pleasure of meeting face to face a real blogger from WordPress. I know gasp horror, hard to believe that the people we converse with on a daily basis are actually living and breathing human beings.  This lovely lady is from http://sarahannhall.wordpress.com/about  Sarah Ann Hall and her equally delightful hubby (we shall just call him Mr X).  Please visit her if you aren’t already – she is a very talented young writer.

They are over here visiting relatives and as Sarah and I got to chat a little I suggested meeting up for a coffee.  They are younger (sigh) than I, but that did not halt the conversation, though I think I possibly bored the pants off Mr. X , as when I am comfortable with people (yes even on a first meeting) I babble like a baboon. They now have my entire life history whether they wanted it or not. So when you get back home again Sarah and get back on WP – I thank you for the lovely time we had and it was special meeting with you both and I once again apologise for chattering so.

The other part of my day was opening my emails to see a blog about….can you guess…yes ME!!!  So utterly unexpected (the cheque’s in the mail BH) and so thoughtful from the delightful Scottish lad as I call him Shaun.

His blog and post on moi if I may be so bold is below. Please go visit him if you don’t already, regardless of me being mentioned.

http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com/2013/07/30/great-bloggersfriends-9-jenny-httpramblingsfromamum-wordpress-com/

He pulled from the archives 3 pieces I had written that he had enjoyed and it made me smile to read them again. So I would like to publicly thank Shaun for doing this for me, an unselfish and quite an ‘oh my’ moment. 🙂

So that is my rambling, hopefully you haven’t nodded off – I thank you so much for reading.

      • It is only Money Mums..
£20 is loose change in the grand scheme of things..

        And I am FEATURED WRITER!
Only been there a few days…..
I must admit I feel “Not Worthy” as I do tend to just blog 80% rubbish 10% funny pictures and 10% good stuff 🙂

Don’t get it. And may as well say, hold up with Radio is someone want’s me to join their Radio show. 🙂

        Doors are a-opening Mums.
I could have lay in bed in pain and felt sorry for myself.
But “Certain People” on here pushed me and challenged me” to be better. I love this place. I think I have made friends for life. I may never meet anybody (I know I will meet Bishop Eddie, Maybe Patty from Holland) But this is a VERY cool place to hang out.

Hope you had a good day. It will be 4-5am your time? So, Good morning when you wake up x lol

      • Well I still thank you loose change or nay.
You are writing – doing something constructive – talking about your passion – why should you NOT feel worthy 🙂 Glad doors are opening time to get up outta bed (as much as you can) and start living this life of yours! Now as my Grandma used to say ‘think on’ 😉 Now it’s 9:10am Thursday morning…I really should get out of my jim-jams.

      • It is Saturday morning where you are right enough..This time difference is crazy. it is nearly 7pm Friday here and I was speaking to someone who was 11am Friday…is crazyness for the brainz

And like football pain for something I love. But did it free for years, would have kept doing it free. Life is all about doing things you enjoy. I am in agony, but I get to choose my paths. So I lose, but I win. or something… x

  1. Hey Mumsy!

I like it when you babble. 🙂

Wow! A funeral celebrant? I so couldn’t do that…I would be crying all the time! Lol

I’ll donate something tomorrow. Super hugs and keep babbling my lovely, Mumsy!

Oh and good luck with the new venture! 🙂
    Super hugs. Paula xxx

  2. Dear RM, welcome to the enlightened world of the prose practitioners.
Prose does give you the advantage of rambling to your hearts content and people thinking you are saying something useful as I am discovering…….
As a Funeral Celebrant I hope I never meet you, at least not in the foreseeable future……at least you will have a job where no client will ever complain and want a refund.
Good to see k is doing well…..good luck with all the fund raising.

    • Why thank you Summers (I think that is better than SS2) Oh yes I ramble away and if anyone pays attention..heaven help them really 🙂 No and I am sure I will hear many more lines like that one in the future. Thank you yes K thanks to you and other wonderful people is doing well.

  3. How awesome that you got to meet a WP buddy. As you noticed, I did the same thing last week! Sadly, I’m also about to put my resume’s in at various places for part time work while I work on completing my manuscripts.

  4. Oh my lovely, I am so happy when you chat with us. I get caught up and sit with my morning tea or breakfast and nod and say hmmm, aha, yes! On fantastic Mumsy… You know… Chatting with the virtual you. Today, I have the morning off so it is nice to catch up with you.
I may need a funeral celebrant.. Er, someday, it is quite a distance, you’re right. Maybe i’ll move back and then it won’t be so far away. I am so happy for you. It’s scary but what a calling. Brave you.

I love that you met a blogger friend face to face. I always think of us catching up, the possibilities are real with that. We would gab, oh my we would gab.
I thank Shaun too.. How lovely of him to honor you. You deserve it.
    xxxx

    • Good morning (well my time) my darling. Yes, we all will at some point 😦 but not for a ways off hopefully. Yes you should move back. Done, start packing and buying the tickets. Even a holiday?? It is scary because you have no second chances at the service and the last thing I would need is my nerves to collapse on me. Thank you. Yes we will catch up one day as soon as you get the ticket, tell hubby and family you are away for 2 weeks…how simple is that 😉 Yes it was a lovely thing for Shaun to do. Have a lovely day/night? 😀 xxxx

  5. Thank you for your rambly post today Mumsy! I had never heard of a funeral celebrant before so off I went to google-land and have discovered that here in Canada one can become a Celebrant – you can specialize or go all the way and do funerals, weddings and ‘new life’ celebrations… so cool I love learning new things!

Good luck with your endeavours – I can only see you blossoming… 🙂

    • Hello lovely, you are welcome. Yes a Civil Celebrant is merely a non religious denomination officiator for all different types of ceremonies. I am pleased I opened your horizons (or Google did). Thank you so much A. 🙂 xx

      • I give you the credit Mum… without reading your post I would not have anything to google…

upon more research it seems Canada is greatly lacking in both training and recognized certification for these roles…

      • Unfortunately there is no accreditation for a F.D however you must be accredited to run Marriages (as there are more legalities involved) and is a much longer course. I am glad I inspired the search then 😉 thanks sweety. x

  6. Well done for completing the course. I’m going to a funeral today (my best friend’s father passed). I’ll be watching the celebrant now after reading this….

Have a wonderful day and I love your ramblings 😀

  7. cool, i’m happy you’re on this path. don’t forget to see the japanese film, ‘departures’ as soon as you can. i know i’ve mentioned this so i won’t harass you anymore about it, but it will leave you feeling like you have made a wonderful choice, i’m sure of it. thanks for reposting the address to contribute, i’ll give it an international whirl tomorrow and let you know how it goes )

    • I am glad you mentioned it again as I do want to see this – I’m not sure where I can get a copy of here though? Have to investigate. You have probably seen that already I am nervous 😦 I am sitting here doing my assignments..a lot of typing and research! You are welcome with the address, I’m going to be terribly brazen and pop it on each post (just in case some miss it and would like to help my baby out)Thanks Beth for helping and helping me also on this path. xx

      • maybe a video store that has more art or foreign films? or online or netflix? it is stunningly beautiful on many levels and well worth finding. don’t be nervous, you seem like a natural. also, it’s not brazen for you to post the address, it’s all for such a good cause. ) b

      • Thank you so much for your confidence in me. I shall look on line shortly 🙂 I hope I naturally don’t fall apart when the time comes – that is my only fear at this point. Thank you for all your encouragement on every level. xx

  8. sent my donation through, emailed the site to let them note i’ve done so, to make sure she is credited. let me know if you see that it’s gone through – beth (kennedy)

  9. I think your new work will be just what you need To make a difference!

Not sure they are global company but here in the states we use vista print for pretty business cards 🙂

  10. Better late than never, I have to say publicly that you did not bore the pants of Mr X or me. I also want to let anyone know (who doesn’t already) that you are a lovely, warm and generous person, and it was a pleasure to meet and chat with you. We’ll do it again next time we’re in Melbourne, and don’t forget to get in touch if you ever head this way. Oh and thank you for calling me a young writer – even if I don’t qualify.
I hope the assignments are progressing well. Now I’m off to read Shaun’s post all about you. 🙂

    • Hello lovely. How very kind *blushing* – thanks for the public declaration – so sweet 🙂
Yes we will definitely catch up again if the opportunity arises. You are younger than moi, so in my books ‘young’ lady you do qualify 😉 Assignments..hmm trying to get my head into gear this morning. xx
